In our experience the chat is a very good place to share information and news. But written communication is limited by its lifelessness. There is no facial expression, no tone and no circumstances. Yet we tend to read those things into it and this leads to miscommunication. And miscommunication leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering.
Be aware of these limitations and consider to switch to a discussion in person.

Like at our analog space, all conversation are on voluntary basis. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, it is in your rights to leave a current discussion. This is also true for our chat.

In contrast to verbal communication, there's a high motivation in written communication, to comment every statement that was made. Consider to leave certain points out in your reply.

This might derail the entire discussion and many chat members will abstain from posting their opinion.

Best to avoid provocation or exaggeration as rhetorical tools.
