¶ Hand jigsaw
If moulded or curved cuts need to be made, for example in worktops, hand jigsaws are the ideal tool. Equipped with a suitable saw blade, any curved cuts can be made by hand in wood, plastic, metal and other materials.
- Eye protection (when working overhead)
- Hearing protection (for everyone in the room)
- The workpiece must always rest firmly and must not slip during the sawing process.
- The machine must be held firmly and guided freely.
- Do not reach under the workpiece or into the area where the saw blade emerges from the material.
- Always position the jigsaw on the workpiece with the saw blade running to avoid kickbacks.
- Make sure that no live wires or cables can be accidentally cut.
- The operator must have a safe place to stand that is free from tripping hazards.
- The saw blade can cause cutting injuries
- Splinters or chips thrown off can cause injuries
- Kickbacks of the machine or the workpiece due to hooking or jamming of the tool can cause injuries
- Damaged or faulty live cables can lead to electric shocks via the housing or on cables
- When changing tools, cutting injuries can occur due to sharp-edged tool cutting edges.
- the connecting cable and plug are undamaged,
- a suitable and undamaged saw blade for the material (wood, plastic, metal, etc.) is installed,
- a chip guard is installed if possible and the saw blade is covered as much as possible,
- a stroke rate suitable for the material is set,
- an extraction device is connected for dust-emitting work.
