The new filtration system consists of 3 stages.
The first and second stage are located inside the wooden filter housing. They can be accessed by lifting off the lid. There are no fasteners that need removing, just make sure the laser cutter is turned off and give it a good pull. The first stage filter will be visible. It is either a F7 or F9 ‘Kompaktfilter’. It can be lifted out, make sure to only grab on to the plastic frame parts, not the actual filter material as it's delicate.
With the first stage filter removed the second stage filter can be accessed. It is a H13 HEPA ‘Kompaktfilter’ it too can be lifted out without needing any tools. Before lifting it out, roll the 4mm clear hose into the recess. This hose is part of the filter monitoring system.
The third and final stage is the active carbon filter. It is located inside the metal cabinet. Turn the two black handles to open the door. The carbon filter will be located on the top. The bottom spot should not contain a filter when this upgraded system is used. The carbon filter can be released by rotating the metal lever to the left. This carbon filter has been modified from the orginal Epilog one. It no longer contains a HEPA element. The lid is secured with screws instead of rivets to allow the active carbon to be replaced with new bulk media.
The first stage should be replaced if damaged or if the pressure drop across it reaches or exceeds 0.5 kPa.
The replacement should be a ‘Kompaktfilter’ with the dimensions 287x592x292mm. It is also possible to use one with the dimensions of 592x287x292mm.
The filter should be a F7 or F9 type. The cheapest source I have found is HTM-SHOP: F7 Filter at htm-shop

The filters will usually come without the foam gasket tape. The gasket tape should be 12-20mm wide and at least 10mm thick. On the first stage it is applied to the top face, on the second stage on the bottom face.
The third stage active carbon filter should be serviced when the exhaust outside the building becomes too strong (it is okay for there to be a little bit of a smell). It can be refilled with fresh carbon pellets. The old used pellets can be thrown into the regular garbage. The filter requires about 10-15kg of active carbon. active carbon at Luftundklima24.de
The filter mat below and above can be reused or replaced with M4, M5 or M6 filter material. It will need to be cut to size with scissors. Cut it about 1cm larger than the housing size, be aware that it's not a square. This filter material is used to contain the carbon pellets and their dust.
