The Heat Press currently lives in the (soon to be previous) 3D lab in the G16 Basement.
Each heat-transferable material has it's own setting for temperature, preassure and duration. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the material you are working with.

There are different materials to use to transfer a print
¶ Printing on vinyl and pressing it
- simple 'paper' to print design in printer, then transfer with heat press
- available for inkjet / laser printers (be aware that printing with laser produces a lot of ink, please make sure you're using appropriate materials)
- available in white / dark
- Printed on white material - If it's not cut out it will end up on your shirt.
- cheapest and not as long lasting
- eg transferfolie , Siser DTV
- special ink to print the white base layer with (doesn't exist on normal inkjet printers)
- then print design onto that base (Printed with a normal inkjet will create a see-through patch anywhere your design was white)
- requires transfer paper
- requires no cutting but 2 step pressing process
- ink for inkjet - hacky, not an actual process
- eg Ghost-White toner for laser printers
- there's also online services for getting DTF transfer designs printed & shipped
- special type of sublimation ink, medium and transfer paper
- doesn't work on all materials
- we currently don't have a sublimation printer
- any inkjet can be set up as a sublimation printer but that requires prparations.
- More durable and long lasting
- Has a layer of adhesive that melts onto the fabric when pressing. requires the correct preassure, temperature and duration to be succesfull.
- Plottable material
