here are some news and updates from xHain:
Thanks to many helping hands and the mastermind of one Markus the concrete blocks in the cellar are water under the bridge. It already feels like it never has been different. The Scubar lacks some love, though.
xHain was approached by Cadus members about helping out with setting up machinery that we have as well, out of this resulted a mutual beneficial relationship between our spaces, even legally documented in a cooperation-contract.
Each Spaces members have the right to access the other space for their projects.
This is realized by each Space designating three keyholders for the other space, who coordinate visits. This is, of course, limited by ongoing projects in the other space.
Portable tools can be borrowed, unless their value exceeds 1.000€, in which case a seperate contract is necessary.
Currently, our designated keyholders are: Dave (@davedarko:x-hain.de), Tig3rch3n (@tig3rch3n:matrix.org) and Markus (@markus89:x-hain.de).
Cadus is set up for larger work, they mainly outfit vehicles.
As such, they have a ~1,85x2,85m CNC mill, full-sized tablesaw, welding equipment and some other tools that could not be placed much less used in xHain.
For use of any of this, please contact one of our keyholders and arrange a date.
There is also a exchange of tools planned. Our welding equipment is already at their place, whereas their 3D printer may soon find a home in our 3D lab.
On May 11th is Infrastructure Saturday. That's 2 days before xHain's 8th birthday, so let's make the space shine : ) The main focus will be the Scubar. Any idea for submarine themed decorations? Join the effort and make something!
But there's many other things to do, on all levels and in all branches. It's also a terrific opportunity to meet old and new faces.

Katrin denkt, liest, schreibt und spricht seit zwei Jahrzehnten über Feminismus, Politik und Medien. Ihr Podcastlabel hauseins macht das Gehirn zwischen den Ohren und das Herz unter den Rippen klüger. Bei uns möchte Katrin über Haltungskonflikte im intersektionalen Feminismus nachdenken. Welche Gleichzeitigkeiten von verschiedenen Diskriminierungsformen gegenüber Frauen gibt es? Wie verhalte ich mich, wenn mir die Abschaffung der einen Diskriminierung wichtiger ist als die andere? Und ist die Welt für den Feminismus einfach zu komplex geworden? Wir freuen uns auf deinen Besuch, Katrin!
