here are some news and updates from xHain:
We received a donation from Sparkasse which will enable a few new things at xHain. Like processing leather and led stuff at Textiles, color development at Darkhain, an extension for our table saw for Hobelhöhle and educational kits for Baumschule. You'll find details in the Enting decisions.
This old project got new impetus. It's suppose to be two bike trailer (trailer for attaching on bikes, not the other way around), which will be parked in front of xHain and can be used as porch. Current timetable suggests it will be ready in spring, fingers crossed.
Accepted proposal: Acquire a 3D printer as proposed by Victor.
Accepted proposal: Distribute the donation from Sparkasse (1500€) as follows: 260€ Textile (leather, leds), 300€ Darkhain (color development), 300€ Hobelhöhle (accessory table saw) and 640€ Baumschule (kits for children workshops)
This month's infrastructure Saturday will include a lot of stuff concerning our new room, but it's not limited to that. You are all very much welcome to join the community and the effort to make xHain better in any way.
Am Dienstag, 15.10.24, um 19 Uhr kommt die Friedens- und Sicherheitsforscherin Ann-Kathrin Benner zum Gespräch unter Bäumen in den xHain. Ann-Kathrin spricht mit uns über solares Strahlungsmanagement und andere Klimainterventionen. Wie es sich für Wissenschaftlerinnen gehört, bringt sie neben Antworten vor allem Fragen mit: Wie gehen wir Menschen mit der drastischen Unsicherheit um, die Systeme der Erde verbockt zu haben? Wie ordnen wir unsere Beziehung zum Planeten (neu)? Und wer organisiert eigentlich das internationale Gespräch darüber, ob so ein Strahlungsmanagement eingesetzt werden soll? Da all das ein komplexes Feld und Ann-Kathrin Profi ist, sagt sie, dass sie sich in keinem Bereich richtig auskennt. Natürlich sagt sie das. Alle klugen Menschen reden so. Wir freuen uns sehr auf den Abend, Ann-Kathrin!
