The xHain microscope is a Zeiss “LSM 21/31” confocal laser scanning microscope. It can also function as a conventional optical microscope.
In conventional mode, it uses a standard visible light source. In laser mode, it is equipped with a 1 mW / 1.15 μm helium-neon laser and a 660 nm diode laser.
Detection is handled via a photomultiplier tube (PMT) for visible light and a germanium photodiode for infrared (IR) wavelengths.
The system supports reflection, transmission, and fluorescence imaging modes.
