The construction work is coming to an end. 3D-Lab and Goldsmith already can move in. For Textiles and xPress the ETA is April 18th. The kitchen will be ordered by then and can also be installed.
So there will be a lot of shuffling and expanding during spring, how fitting. Please help your favourite Branch(es) to move and build things. These are exciting times for xHain and there will be a lot of change in the coming weeks. All help is appreciated!
We've signed the contract for the little store space very close to us. The front room will be used for meetings and meet-ups and the second room for 3 co-working desks. If you have interest in renting a desk please contact @richard:x-hain.de.
If you are hosting a regular meet-up at xHain, consider to move it there.
There will be no construction measures, but we need to build up some infrastructe, like internet and a locking system. See you there on the next Round Table.
Due to recent thefts at xHain we decided on some measures. Here are the most important ones:
Our main doors (G16/G18/G20) will get a knob on the outside and members get badges to be able to buzz themselves in.
We will tag our tools with RFID-tags, which will raise an alarm at the door, when not properly borrowed (like in the library).
We will revive xRoots, as a dedicated group to arrange the Open Monday as open and safe as possible.
These three plans are excellent opportunities to participate at xHain and to give some love back to the community.
For xRoots please contact Tina (@softegg:x-hain.de). We need more members who dedicate a few Monday evenings in the year to be accessable, to give tours and to help guests.
On the RFID front there already tests in progress, contact Max (@mle86:x-hain.de) or Sebastian (@sebastian:classen.berlin) if you like to join this group.

We are deep in the transition to be an association and the Vorstand started to take over some responsibilities from the Enting.

We're awaiting the final registration while xHain is building up the infrastructure for becoming a member of the association. Stay tuned!
There will be a Governance Retreat to develop the inner structure of xHain e.V.
Unlike the last retreats, this will happen close by xHain. All members are very welcome to join. Simply add your name to the pad.

Proposal: Henrique is given access to the info@x-hain.de mailbox to help us sort out spam and answer questions about tools and events.
Rationale: It is good to have a well-kept inbox and we are currently lacking the temporal resources for it.
Proposal: Der Verein wird Mitglied im Verbund offerener Werkstätten und schließt darüber Haftpflicht- und Unfallversicherung ab. Max wird mit der Umsetzung beauftragt.
Rationale: Es ist gut, versichert zu sein.
Proposal: Founding of a new Branch called Rechenwerk, which is about developing and maintaining software for xHain. Multi (@thisismulti:matrix.org) is named Curator.
Reasoning: A lot of different self written software is used at xHain. This branch will coordinate the development, documentation and maintenance of those software projects as well as manage where code is stored. The branch will not take care of the infrastructure itself.
